About

A small tool for a simple question.

"How much of what I spend stays in my town?" Most people guess. Small Local lets you count.

It is a ledger and nothing more: you type an amount, a category, the kind of place and, if you like, the place's name. The book shows the month's local share, how each category did and how close you came to your own goal. There are no business listings, no reviews, no ads, no tracking of where you are and no social sharing.

smalllocal.org is built and run by WeldonPC, a computer services company in Northeast Ohio. It is a website, not a charity or nonprofit organization, and it is not connected with any chamber of commerce, business association, bank or "shop local" campaign.

Who it is for

Anyone who wants to put a number on their own habits: households that set a goal together, people trying a "local month", or anyone curious where the grocery money really goes.
